Topographical Survey
Detailed ground surveys capturing relief, drainage, vegetation and infrastructure for engineering design and planning.
A topographical survey records the shape of the ground and the features on it — levels, slopes, drainage lines, roads, structures, services and vegetation — so a site can be designed for rather than guessed at.
We capture the site with GNSS and total station, and by drone where the area or terrain makes that faster, then deliver a contoured drawing and a point dataset your design team can work in directly.
The survey is what turns a site into something an engineer, architect or planner can make decisions about: where water goes, how much earth has to move, and what the ground will and will not allow.

Frequently asked questions
What contour interval do I need?
It depends on the terrain and the design. Half-metre contours suit most building and drainage work on gentle ground; flat sites sometimes need finer, and rugged terrain is often adequately described at one metre. Tell us what the survey is for and we will advise.
Can you survey a site that is heavily vegetated?
Yes, though dense canopy limits what a drone can see and the work shifts to ground survey, which takes longer. We will say so at quotation stage rather than after the fact.
Will the survey work in my design software?
We deliver in standard CAD and survey exchange formats, and will match the format and coordinate system your design team asks for.
